AdHoc is seeking interns to work in our Brooklyn office.
All candidates must live in the New York area and be available 12-20 hours per week starting January and ending in May. We offer internships in three different concentration areas: events, editorial, and marketing.
Event internship tasks include ticket counts, artist research, handling show submissions, using Photoshop/video editing software to make flyers and other promotional assets, organizing guest lists, zine distribution, and, after some training, show booking.
Editorial internship tasks include assisting with proofreading, fact-checking, and research for our quarterly print zine; contributing artist interviews and short write-ups to our online publication; building posts in our website; and help with social media and zine distribution.
Marketing internship tasks include assisting our community coordinator and marketing manager in writing social copy for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to promote our events and editorial output; using Photoshop/video editing software to make flyers and other promotional assets; building marketing plans, helping to schedule out AdHoc’s content calendar; and help with zine distribution.
All intern candidates should have excellent research skills, a laptop, and familiarity with the local music scene. The ability to gain school credit for the internship is strongly preferred but not required.
